Celebrating Partnership and Support at Ysgol Heol Goffa’s Macmillan Coffee Morning

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of attending Ysgol Heol Goffa’s Care and Support coffee morning, held in aid of Macmillan. It was a fantastic event that brought together not only the school community but also key partners from health, social, and community services. Ysgol Heol Goffa, located in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, is a special school providing tailored education for pupils aged 3 to 19 with a variety of needs, including moderate to profound learning disabilities, autism, and social-emotional challenges. The school’s dedication to celebrating each pupil’s individuality and success aligns perfectly with our mission.

The coffee morning provided an excellent platform for us to showcase the wide range of support services we offer to carers and the children they care for. We value our partnership with the school and believe working closely with such dedicated institutions enhances our ability to reach and support families in meaningful ways. Events like these also offer us the chance to connect directly with the children we support and other wonderful young people.

And, of course, the delicious cakes at the Macmillan coffee morning added a sweet touch to an already wonderful event!

It’s partnerships like this that help strengthen our community, making it easier for us all to provide the best possible care and support. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Ysgol Heol Goffa and other valuable community partners in the future!

W.A.N.D (We Are Neuro Diverse)

W.A.N.D (We Are Neuro Diverse) has been set up by parents and carers of neuro diverse children to help support parent carers and/or guardians of children diagnosed with (or on the pathway to diagnosis) Autism , ADHD, PDA, etc.

Having previously been part of starting an autism group in the area, both Justine and Kathryn decided to branch out into the neurodiverse category so that they could welcome people with children with not only Autism but everyone on the spectrum.

With our enthusiastic moderators Katie, Danielle and Louise, our aim is to involve the children in exclusive inclusive events/sessions to help with socialising skills, whilst the parents, carers and siblings can be with like-minded people, this will then help alleviate feelings of isolation, loneliness and judgement that can come with these conditions in a normal setting.
