Carer Support Worker
Salary: £12 – £12.50 per hour (depending on task)

We are recruiting for Carer support workers for Replacement Care, young adult and complex care. Positions are available in Llanelli, Carmarthen, Ceredigion, and surrounding villages. We value diversity in our workforce, and we encourage applications from all sectors of the community.

Carers Trust Crossroads West Wales is a local charity, providing services for unpaid carers in Carmarthenshire for 40 years, with the benefit of being a Network Partner of Carers Trust.
We place Carers and the people they support at the heart of everything we do.
Our vision is that we want every carer to be recognised, supported and offered services that help them maintain their own health and wellbeing.
Our mission
- To provide services that respond to the needs of carers and the people they support, offering them peace of mind and understanding
- and works with them and other stakeholders to influence service innovation and growth.
We are looking for 2-3 Trustees to join our Board in the coming year. We are looking for people who are passionate about our mission. We are particularly keen to ensure that we have a diverse Board, so we are looking for people from different walks of life and backgrounds, including those with a lived experience of caring.
Finally, we are looking to fill some skills gaps on the Board, including public fundraising and marketing/PR/advertising.
We would welcome applications from people who have one or more of these skills, but we also encourage other people to apply if they feel that they have useful skills and experience to offer!
Time commitment: 3 hours per month
Meetings: Six committee meetings per year including the AGM with option of attending both online and in person, and occasional sub-committees.
Other commitments: Invitation to attend events and training courses during the year

Apprenticeship Framework
Apprentice
Are you aged 16½ – 18? Are you looking to learn whilst earning?
Social Care Companies in Carmarthenshire are looking to employ Apprentices for a wide range of positions available throughout their business. They are looking for motivated, caring individuals, who would like to make a positive impact supporting people in their own homes. The right apprentice will be flexible, trustworthy, and passionate about delivering care to our clients. Five companies within this framework are now looking to add new members to our teams, upskilling new carers, giving then a wealth of knowledge whilst earning! They could even help towards passing your driving test!
The Position will offer:
- Full time Apprenticeship with a full-time position available at the end of the apprenticeship (18 Months)
- Balance of college and work-based learning.
- 12 positions available within the framework
- Mixture of Community and Office Based learning.
- Designated Mentor & Peer Mentor groups.
- Competitive hourly rates paid at £5.28 per hour.
- Additional hourly rate for travelling in between calls, at £4.81 per hour.
- Free Driving Lessons & Test (above 17 years old).
- QCF Qualification gain a qualification in care with our support & guidance with a guaranteed position available after the apprenticeship.
