Carers Support Service
Carers say that access to information, financial support & breaks in caring are vital in helping them manage the impact of caring on their lives.
The Carers Support Service provides free & confidential information, advice & support to Carers.
We produce & distribute information for carers & organise regular events in partnership with other organisations.
The service is joint funded by Carmarthenshire County Council & Hywel Dda University Health Board.
Announcements
NEW FUNDING
Carers Trust Crossroads West Wales are delighted to announce that we have been awarded £499,360 over 3 years from the National Lottery’s People and Places fund enabling us to continue supporting young carers aged 5-25 across Carmarthenshire in a new project called ‘Carmarthenshire Crossroads Young Carers’.
From the 1st April 2023 we will be focusing our support on helping those young carers who don’t feel they have anyone they can talk to or who need help creating a balance in their life between their caring role, their personal life and their education/work life. This will include offering 1:1 support sessions as well as local activities and access to respite in the short term whilst we work with them to develop longer term solutions. Our education team will continue their good work raising awareness of young carers and some of the challenges they face with pupils and staff in schools and colleges. They will also be helping identify and support carer leads across primary schools in the county.
CARERS INFORMATION SERVICE
Please be advised that as of April 1st, 2023, Carmarthenshire County Council and Hywel Dda University Health Board will no longer commission Carers Trust Crossroads West Wales to deliver the Carmarthenshire Carers Information and Outreach Service.
The service will transfer over to Adferiad Recovery on this date. Carers who would like to register to receive support from Adferiad Recovery can contact their Swansea Office on 01792 816600 or email carersincarms@adferiad.org

EXCELLENT IN EVERY RESPECT. The office staff are always helpful and approachable and ready to discuss out situation (e.g. if a visit should have to be cancelled by us at short notice or any reason).
I can only speak highly of every one of the ladies that have been here from Crossroads. Everyone is very kind and caring. I’m very grateful to them all for all their support.
Dad enjoys the carers staying in the afternoon. He has a few favourite ones, you can hear the laughter coming from his bedroom.
I know I can leave my mother in the safe hands of Crossroads staff giving me peace of mind while I am away.
